On May 9, 2021, near the city of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, a robbery attack was committed on a car carrying a cargo of precious metals and stones, accompanied by a chase and firefight between the attackers and the police. According to information received via TAPA EMEA channels, a group of masked attackers armed with automatic weapons in Porsche and Audi vehicles blocked the passage of an armored van carrying a particularly valuable cargo in the amount of 50,000,000 euros (precious stones, gold products).
During the attack, one of the criminals opened fire in the air to keep outsiders away from the scene of the incident.
Arriving at the scene of the incident, a police squad was met with fire from the criminals, as a result of which a shootout ensued. Using the advantage in weapons, the attackers managed to escape from the scene of the crime, after which a pursuit began on the N247 highway. The pursuit ended in an emergency with a hijacked truck near Broek in Waterland, 11 km from Amsterdam, after which a group of robbers was detained.
