We present you with a brief overview of the statistics of cargo incidents in Europe for December 2020. According to the TAPA association, a total of 209 cases of cargo theft were registered in the EMEA region, for a total of 3.6 million euros. The largest number of incidents was noted in the UK (156), Germany (13), Italy (9), France and South Africa (8 each). 65% of incidents are related to thefts from a vehicle semitrailer by cutting the awning during the night rest of drivers in unguarded parking lots. Loads from 16 categories were stolen, including tobacco products, food, hygiene and cosmetics, household items. in relation to 100 (50%) incidents, the category of cargo and the value of the stolen item has not been determined.
In Russia, in December 2020, according to IMPACT, 41 cargo thefts were carried out for a total of 103 million rubles. More detailed information with details of the most significant incidents, a list of new TAPA members and certified companies is attached.
